Women's Museum in Marrekech who planned to open its doors in March 2018 is postponed to April following the delay in the construction work. The ocher city will host a new cultural space in the historic district of Sidi Abdel Aziz. The museum will house "an archive and documentation center and a space where Moroccan women can show their creations in a contemporary setting"
The inaugural exhibition entitled "Femmes du Maroc, entre art et histoire", will take place until July 31, 2018. The museum will present several women who have marked the history of the kingdom: Zaineb Nafzaouiya, considered the founder of Marrakech, Assayyida El Hurray, princess of Tetuan and regent of the city in the early sixteenth century, the painter Chaibia Talal, or Malika Fassi, the only woman signatory of the Manifesto of Independence.
