Traces Nomades until September 16, 2017
The Dar Bellarj foundation offers us a journey through the writings with the exhibition "Traces Nomades". A reflection on the importance played by typography, which defines and conveys the cultural identities of each civilization.
Organized in partnership with the Khatt Foundation of Amsterdam and proposed by Huda Smitshuijzen AbiFarès, the exhibition brings together artists from all walks of life. There are works by Zineb Triki, Amine Bendriouich, Laurent Mareschal, Margherita Abi Hanna and Brahim Boucheikha.
This exhibition encourages us to discover writing as a means of expression but above all as a testimony to the inter-connectivity between peoples. Indeed, it transcends borders and mixes with other forms of language, in a movement and a permanent mutation.
It will reveal the richness of the Moroccan heritage, with its three Arabic, Tifinagh and Latin scripts. It is "the central theme from which the works were commissioned to the five young artists".
The creations are multidisciplinary. We sail through ceramics, jewelery, design works, interactive installations and even culinary, which reinterpret all the theme of "Traces Nomades" to highlight the crafts of Morocco and the nomadic cultures of the Maghreb.
The vernissage will take place on Friday 16th December from 18h. On Saturday 17 December at 6.30 pm, a panel discussion and debates in the presence of the artists and animated by Huda Smitshuijzen AbiFarès will be organized on the theme "Journey of a letter: from a layout to an artistic installation".
Throughout the exhibition, short documentaries will also be screened, as well as many other activities, such as book presentations, screenings, workshops or musical events.
